Shalom friends,
As we step into the new year of 2006, I'd like you to know about some
upcoming events on the UMJC calendar. I hope you can join us in some of
them.
This month, I'll be representing the UMJC as part of the third Road to Jerusalem
conference, in Los Angeles on January 20-21. This is a ministry
"bringing peace and reconciliation to Jews and Gentiles in Yeshua,"
which understands that Messianic Jews are essential to the process.

system created by Alexander the Great nearly two centuries earlier.
Emperor Antiochus sought to bring the Jewish people into conformity
with the rest of his subjects by banning Jewish practice and the study
of Torah, and finally defiling the holy temple so it could no longer be
a place of worship. |

will study,? for perhaps you will not have leisure. Education
has always been one of the highest priorities among the Jewish people.
Hillel spoke the words above a generation before Messiah came and they
remain a Jewish value to this day. One of our stated purposes in
the UMJC has always been ?To support the training of Messianic
leaders.? Early on, we formed a Yeshiva program that provided
professional training for leaders and continuing education for all
interested adults. At the same time, our Education Committee began
producing and cataloging curriculum materials for children and youth. |
